How these guides are written

Each guide answers a question people ask before a move, and draws on the work we do. We've moved homes and offices in Calgary since 2021, with trips across Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. We know what makes a moving day run long and what changes when a move crosses a provincial line.

We check every guide against how we actually work before it goes up. When the right answer depends on your move, the guide tells you what it depends on, so you're not handed one answer meant for everyone.

When a fact comes from our own jobs, the guide says so. When it comes from somewhere else, the guide names the source, and links to it when it's a government program or a consumer guide.
