The crew.
Our crew loads, carries and unloads everything you're moving.
Furniture protection.
Moving blankets, shrink wrap and general furniture protection. The materials are included at no charge.
Floor protection.
Floor runners along the path in and out of your home, included at no charge.
Mattress protection.
A heavy-duty mattress bag for every mattress, included at no charge.
Furniture taken apart.
When a bed or table has to come apart to move, taking it apart and putting it back together is part of the move's time.
Boxes placed by room.
Label each box by room, and we carry it to that room at your new home.
26-foot truck.
The hourly rate includes a 26-foot truck with your crew.
Not included
Plan for these before moving day.

- Packing and unpacking, unless you ask for them

What our residential movers in Calgary do on moving day
We confirm your arrival time before moving day, and arriving on time is a commitment we make on every job. When the crew gets there, the work usually runs in this order:
- Protect the home. Floor runners go down on the way in and out.
- Wrap the furniture. Moving blankets and shrink wrap go around anything that can scratch or dent. Both are included at no charge.
- Take apart what won't fit. Beds, tables and similar furniture that needs to come apart is taken apart and put back together at the other end. That time is part of the move, not a separate service. We don't take apart gym equipment such as treadmills and multi-station machines.
- Load, drive and unload. Everything travels on a 26-foot truck.
- Place it where you want it. Furniture goes into the room you choose, and anything we took apart is put back together before we leave.

As home movers, we handle house moves and townhome moves across the city. Each kind of home changes the day in its own way:
Houses and townhomes:
stairs, basements and narrow halls add carrying time. If a piece may have to come out over a fence, tell us when we follow up and we'll plan for it.

How our residential movers in Calgary price a move
Local moves are billed by the hour, and every figure here comes with the conditions that go with it:
Local moving rate
$150 an hour for two movers and a 26-foot truck
a 3-hour minimum
- a 1-hour truck and travel charge, which covers 30 minutes each way inside Calgary
- $50 an hour for each extra mover or truck
- plus GST, and evening and weekend moves cost the same as weekdays

As a guide, here is the labour time a move usually takes. These figures leave out the travel charge and GST, and every move is different.

What changes the final cost
The final cost is set by the time the job takes. These are what usually add to it:
Access.
Elevators, restricted parking and a long carry between the truck and your door all add time.
Stairs.
Carrying up and down stairs, or out of a basement, takes longer. Tell us about every flight when we follow up.
Furniture and doors.
Furniture that was meant to be taken apart before we arrived but wasn't, and items that need a door taken off, add time.
Extra stops.
Each extra stop between your old home and your new one adds time to the move.
Distance.
Towns around Calgary are charged the round-trip drive from our Calgary base, and long-distance moves add the drive both ways and a fuel surcharge.
Volume and packing.
How much you own, and how easy the homes are to work in, move the hours more than anything else. Packing time goes into your quote when you ask for it, and plastic bins are charged separately.

Plastic bins.
Instead of cardboard, you can rent our reusable plastic bins, about 45 litres each, at $4 each plus GST for a move within Calgary, Airdrie, Chestermere, Cochrane or Okotoks. We drop them off about two weeks before your move. Moving out of that area? You can buy them at $15 each plus GST.
Storage.
When your dates don't line up, we arrange storage and handle both moves.

Damage terms
If something is damaged
We own our mistakes, and the terms are written into the contract you sign before the move:
- Our liability is $1.00 per pound per item. That's a valuation, not replacement-value insurance: a 50 lb item is covered up to $50.
- If you want more protection, we agree it in writing before the move.
- Report damage in writing within 7 days of the move, with photos, the item's approximate weight and proof of its value.
- Boxes you pack yourself aren't covered when the outside of the box isn't damaged, and neither is damage caused by inadequate packing on your part.
We're fully insured and bonded, with $5 million in general liability coverage and WCB coverage for our crew.
From a real job
A partial move in Calgary: Hounsfield Heights to North Glenmore Park
In October 2026, three of our movers spent 8.5 hours on a partial move. It ran from a house in Hounsfield Heights/Briar Hill, in northwest Calgary, to North Glenmore Park in the southwest. Even for a partial move, the truck was full. We also moved a very heavy commercial treadmill.

Furniture was wrapped in moving blankets and taped inside the house.

The crew carried wrapped furniture up the ramp into our truck.

Boxes and wrapped furniture went in tier by tier, up to the roof of the truck.

How much do residential movers cost in Calgary?
We charge $150 an hour for two movers and a 26-foot truck, with a 3-hour minimum and a 1-hour truck and travel charge inside Calgary, plus GST. A one- or two-bedroom home usually takes two or three movers 4 to 7 hours of labour, or $600 to $1,400 before the travel charge and GST, but every move is different.
How many movers do I need?
Two movers handle most small moves and many one-bedroom homes. Larger homes usually need three or four. We size the crew with you when we follow up, from what you're moving and how the home is laid out.
Do evening or weekend moves cost more?
No. Evening and weekend moves cost the same as weekday moves.
Boxes and dates
Supplies, and when your new home isn't ready.
Do you supply boxes?
We rent reusable plastic bins, about 45 litres each, at $4 each plus GST for moves within Calgary, Airdrie, Chestermere, Cochrane and Okotoks, dropped off about two weeks before the move and picked up after. For moves out of that area, you can buy them at $15 each plus GST. They're one size, so they stack neatly on the truck, and there's no cardboard to get rid of afterwards.
What if our new home isn't ready on moving day?
We arrange storage and handle both moves: out of your old home into storage, and from storage to your new home.
