How it works
How our senior movers in Calgary plan the move
Our senior moving services start the same way as every move we do:
Before the move
- Our quote form or a phone call. You, or a family member, send us the basics.
- We follow up. By phone, text or email, whichever you prefer, we go over the move with you, and family members are welcome to join in.
- A free visit when a home in Calgary needs one. We come to see the home, so the plan fits the rooms, the stairs and what's moving.
- Your quote. After a visit, the quote usually follows within 24 hours.
On the day
- Moving day. We confirm the arrival time beforehand.
Downsizing
Downsizing to a smaller home
Downsizing usually means not everything is going to the new home. We move only what you've decided to take. If some pieces are going to family members, mention it when we follow up, and we'll plan the stops. Each extra stop adds time to the move. If some things need a place to wait while you decide, we arrange storage and handle both moves.
At the new home
Packing and setting up the new home
Packing and unpacking.
Our crew can pack the home before the move and unpack at the new one. See our packing services.
Plastic bins.
Our reusable 45-litre bins rent for $4 each plus GST to moving customers.
Furniture set up.
Beds and furniture we take apart are put back together, and every piece goes to the room you choose.

Retirement residences
Moving into a retirement residence
Many retirement residences and condo buildings set move-in times and ask for an elevator booking. Tell us the building's rules and we'll plan the crew and the hours around them. Our crew speaks English and Spanish.
Hourly rates
What our senior movers in Calgary charge
Senior moves are charged at our standard moving rates:
Standard moving rate
$150 an hour for two movers and a 26-foot truck
a 3-hour minimum
- a 1-hour truck and travel charge inside Calgary
- $50 an hour for each extra mover or truck
- plus GST, and evening and weekend moves cost the same
Planning a smaller move
A smaller home usually means a shorter move. Typical ranges by home size are on our page of Calgary movers' rates, and our residential movers page explains what adds time on the day.
When we follow up, tell us:
- What's going to the new home, and what's staying behind
- Any pieces going to family members on the way
- The building's rules for elevators and move-in times
- Family members who'd like to join the planning
- Whether you'd like packing, unpacking or storage
Protection included
The materials are included at no charge: moving blankets, shrink wrap, floor runners and general furniture protection.
Additional services
Ask for any of these on our quote form or when we follow up.
What changes the final cost
The final cost is set by the time the job takes. These are what usually add to it:
Residence rules.
Set move-in times, elevator bookings and a long carry from the truck to the door all add time. Tell us the building's rules when we follow up.
Stairs.
Carrying up and down stairs, or out of a basement, takes longer. Tell us about every flight when we follow up.
Furniture to take apart.
Beds and furniture we take apart are put back together at the new home, and that time is part of the move.
Deciding what goes.
We move only what you've decided to take, so sorting it out before moving day keeps the hours down.
Stops for family.
Pieces going to family members mean extra stops, and each extra stop adds time to the move.
Volume and packing.
How much is moving sets the hours more than anything else. Packing time goes into your quote when you ask for it, and plastic bins are charged separately.
A reply the way you prefer
Send us the basics through our quote form, and a member of our team follows up by phone, text or email, whichever you prefer.
